Remote Mountain Lodge Chef

Job Description: 

As the Chef at our remote mountain lodge, you will be responsible for creating exceptional culinary experiences that showcase the best of local and seasonal ingredients. You will have the opportunity to unleash your creativity in designing menus that cater to a diverse range of tastes and dietary preferences, while also incorporating elements of regional cuisine and international flair.

Responsibilities:

·         Plan and execute menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, ensuring a balance of flavor, nutrition, and variety.

·         Source high-quality, sustainable ingredients from local suppliers whenever possible.

·         Manage inventory, ordering, and stock rotation to minimize waste and maintain cost efficiency.

·         Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance, training, and support as needed to ensure smooth operations.

·         Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety and sanitation standards at all times.

·         Collaborate with lodge management to develop special event menus and catering options.

·         Adapt menus and recipes as necessary to accommodate dietary restrictions and guest preferences.

·         Uphold a positive and collaborative work environment, fostering a culture of teamwork, respect, and excellence.

Qualifications:

·         Proven experience as a Chef in a high-volume kitchen, preferably in a remote or seasonal setting.

·         Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.

·         Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.

·         Creativity and innovation in menu development, with a passion for exploring new flavors and techniques.

·         Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations, with a commitment to upholding best practices.

·         Flexibility and adaptability to work in a dynamic and ever-changing environment.

·         Physical stamina and endurance to meet the demands of working in a remote mountain setting.

From May 1rst 2024 to October 31rst (possibility of long term contract as well). 40h per week.
